The people who work here are so friendly and personal - I've never had chef wave at me before! - and seemed genuinely happy to be here. The food is tasty, fresh and satisfying, and I really respect how their menu changes with the season. With the change in the season, though, it does mean that you might not have access to a particular dish that you might be attached to, which might not make everyone happy. Overall, it was a great experience - I'd go again for a relaxed brunch with my girlfriends.
Wonderful little cafe at the Jackson's Landing side of Pyrmont. Around the corner from The Star the food is fresh, delicious and very well presented. Run by a couple, the husband is in the kitchen cooking up a storm and the wife is out the front making sure the customers are well looked after. A favourite of many locals I'm sure.
I've come here a lot for brunch on the weekend, and get either the corn fritters or pancakes which are both good, although this year the cafe has changed ownership and the new people are still working things out. I've been told they've improved on some menu items, but the pancakes are terrible and doughy in the middle. It'll probably get better like the other menu items though.
More show than substance, this little cafe sits right on the edge of the water, between Pirrama Road and Harris Street, and are therefore able to enjoy the lovely ocean smell and park view in one of the most expensive areas in Sydney. I won't completely knock their food and coffee. It's not brilliant, but it's also not anything to write home about (I will, however mention that the sauce for the profiteroles is poured on at the table so it won't have time to get soggy and wet though - also makes the place a little more ritzy), and the staff are very, incredibly friendly, so I imagine it would be a nice place to spend a morning on the weekend with a few friends. Between high prices, being far away from the city, I probably wouldn't be visiting often.
