Laserzone Sunshine Coast Logo and Images

Laserzone Sunshine Coast

3 Main Drive, Warana QLD 4575

Laser Tag is a high-tech sport where players wearing computerised vests or packs and handheld "phasers" attempt to achieve a winning score by zapping opponent players, base stations, and other targets within a playing arena or maze.

After players put on their packs, the players move into the arena and the missions is started by the central computer. The packs will activate allowing the player to fire their phaser at opponent packs and arena devices such as base stations. Each pack has sensors on the front, back, shoulders and phaser. Zapping these areas will award points while deactivating the tagged opponent for a short time. At the end of the mission, the packs shutdown automatically and the players return to the kit-up room. Score information is displayed on the scoreboard in the foyer. You can even get a print-out your own individual scorecard!

Each mission consists of 8 minutes of actual arena time. We allow a 4 minute change-over and kit-up time. For your first mission, there will also be a 5 minute briefing where Laserzone staff will explain the operation of the packs and arena devices as well as outlining the safety rules.

When you play more than one mission, you will have a 12 minute rest between your missions.

The path is a continuous coastal link from Golden Beach in the south, where it hugs the Pumicestone Passage, before passing Bulcock Beach and Kings Beach on its way around Caloundra Headland heading north following the long, sandy beaches of Kawana to Mooloolaba. Along the way visit some historical sites including Military Jetty used for military operations in World War II, and the heritage listed Kings Beach Bathing Pavillion constructed in 1937. The headland section follows a trail of plaques honouring the lives of those lost in war. Keep an eye out for the wreck of the SS Dicky that ran aground on Dicky Beach in 1893 during a cyclone.

Kinaba Track

Cooloola Section, Great Sandy National Park, Noosa Heads QLD 4567

The scenic waterways of the upper Noosa River and its tributaries are one of the Great Sandy National Park's, Cooloola section most outstanding features. Tannins washed from decaying plant matter stain the waters a very dark colour, almost black in deeper sections, offering spectacular reflections of the twisted paperbarks and bloodwoods that line the waterways' banks. The Kinaba track takes you through regrowth forests, paperbark swamps and cabbage palm wetland. The vegetation changes from open forest to areas dominated by melaleucas and swamp banksias. As you enter a section of casuarinas with ground cover of mangrove ferns, look to the left for a surveyor's blaze on a dead tree. The Government arrow and the numbers "239" are still clearly visible. Upon reaching the Kinaba Information Centre, visit the displays or take the self-guided boardwalk through the mangroves.

The park also protects coastal wallum, paperbark wetlands and rainforest remnants. Climb the steep, rough 800 metre trail up the mountain's eastern side from the carpark to the summit. Carry water and snack food. Be rewarded with 360 degree views - most spectacular at sunrise. Look for peregrine falcons nesting along cliff faces. In winter and spring, photograph wildflowers.
